Financial Learning Events Throughout 2025
Join us for workshops, seminars, and community sessions designed to help Australians navigate complex money decisions with more confidence. Real conversations about budgeting, investing, and planning ahead.
What We're Planning This Year
We've lined up sessions that address the questions people actually ask us. Not generic finance theory – practical stuff about managing household budgets, understanding super options, and making sense of property decisions in the current market.
Most events run for two to three hours. Some are in-person at our Tuggeranong location, others are online for folks who can't make it in. We keep groups small so there's time for questions and real discussion.
Early bird registration opens six weeks before each event. Places fill up quickly for our in-person sessions, so it's worth getting in early if you're keen.

How Our Workshops Actually Run
We're not big on lecturing from the front of the room. Most of our sessions are interactive – you'll work through scenarios, ask questions as they come up, and hear from other people dealing with similar challenges.
Piers Lockwood, who leads most of our workshops, has been advising clients in Canberra for over 15 years. He's good at explaining complicated stuff in plain language and doesn't mind when people interrupt with questions.
Expect a mix of presentation, group discussion, and practical exercises. We share templates and resources you can take away and use. And yes, there's always decent coffee available.
Meet Your Workshop Facilitator

Piers Lockwood
Financial Educator & Senior Adviser
Piers spent the first decade of his career with a large banking institution before setting up his own practice in 2018. He got frustrated with the cookie-cutter approach to financial advice and wanted to spend more time actually teaching people how money works.
These days, he splits his time between one-on-one client work and running education sessions. He's particularly interested in helping younger professionals get a grip on their finances early, before small mistakes become bigger problems.
Outside of work, Piers volunteers with a local financial literacy program and occasionally writes for community newsletters. He's also known for making terrible coffee puns during workshop breaks.
Why People Keep Coming Back
We've run these sessions since 2019, and what started as quarterly workshops has grown into a regular calendar because people find them genuinely useful. Here's what makes them different from standard financial seminars.
Real Questions Welcome
We encourage interruptions and tangents. If something doesn't make sense or you need an example explained differently, speak up. That's when the best learning happens.
Practical Takeaways
Every session includes templates, checklists, or tools you can actually use. We're not just talking concepts – we show you how to apply them to your own situation.
Community Learning
You'll meet other people navigating similar decisions. Some of our best insights come from participants sharing what's worked for them or what they've learned the hard way.
